Juego coaching was founded by Paul O'Brien in 2024.
Paul is a UEFA A licensed coach who also holds the English FA's prestigious Advanced Youth Award.
Having been involved with the professional game for a number of years across various Premier League Academies, he decided to utilise his unique skillsets to help develop the footballers of tomorrow.
Sharing his technical knowledge with individual players and demonstrating how this links to the larger game, is a key fundamental of his coaching style.
One of the ways to further develop the players of tomorrow is by supporting and devloping the coaches of today.
As a current Coach Developer for The FA, Paul has an in depth knowledge of The FA coaching pathway and curriculum.
With this knowledge he is able to support the development of coaches looking to prepare for upcoming course, looking to develop their players or just looking to challenge themselves.
An ILM qualified Coach and mentor, a Certifcate in Education (PG CertEd) and a degree in Business Leadership and Management allows him to design, develop and deliver bespoke training for clubs of all levels.
"Juego" is a Spanish word which means "Game"
Why "game coaching". After seeing so many players coming through the academy system it was clear to see how much 1-2-1 coaching has become a part of the players journeys.
Exceptional individual players were struggling with the system due to a lack of game understanding.
Many of the 1-2-1 sessions lacked the "what next step" that linked the technical development to the larger game.
Juego Coaching was developed to help players understand why these fundamental skills are so important. Why the "brilliant basics" and more importantly how they are apllied in the "Juego"
